Tactical Patrol |
A very popular school over the years. This patrol program is not a bite school. There are enough of them to last a lifetime. Instead, ASCT developed this program to teach handlers how to use their K9 to find and apprehend criminal suspects, under deadly risks conditions. All field oriented, this program runs for three days and starts off with a bang! From the first hour, handlers learn the armed suspect tracking process for both safety and apprehension. Handlers learn how to position, coordinate, angle, and counter suspect behavior. The training spans tracks, area searches, vehicle stops, violent domestics, officer down reports, building searches, and handler injuries. Topics are demonstrated, practiced, and K9 training methods are taught in detail.

Technical Narcotic
Ever wonder what really happens when a specific narcotic is present in a specific kind of vehicle? Ever become confused as to how or why a K9 can specifically pinpoint a drug in a certain location, yet not in another? This class covers all of that and more. We take each narcotic and break it down to its' smallest scent element. Next, we develop the behavior of the scent element. Finally, we include the factors of masking agents, used to cover the narcotic scent - and viola' we have a technical process that allows handler an easy, clear path to training and location of interdiction style narcotics. According to a great many handlers, this class has resulted in their K9 team hitting, finding, and seizing a hefty increase of both narcotic and tainted cash.

Liability Reduction and Legal Theory
Not a case law school. Leave that stuff to the lawyers. That's what they're for. This clinic was developed by the National Insurance Commission for ASCT. The program teaches agencies and handlers how to specifically formulate their liability status based on true, hard numbers. The process is pinpoint accurate and has led hundreds of handlers to an enlightened world of K9 liability reduction. You have to know where you stand before you can improve. This program does both.
